Gas Servicing at Leeds City Council

Motivity™ is revolutionising field based workers in the public and private sectors.
 
Job tickets, time sheets and general admin are integral to field based workers. However, they also generate a lot of paperwork. To date, this has meant physically collecting job instructions from the office, time consuming form completion and reams of cumbersome paperwork.
 
Appstation’s Motivity™ eradicates the burden of old and inefficient paper-based systems, allowing organisations to be more responsive and efficient. Tradesmen, service and repair engineers, sales teams and maintenance staff can all now use mobile palmtop computers or PDA’s to:


•   Receive instructions for work.
•   Record what work was undertaken and what materials were used.
•   Generate cost, payroll and invoicing data.
•   Order materials.
 
Motivity™ has been developed to cut business administration, travel and paper costs while increasing workforce productivity and efficiency. Jobs no longer need to be allocated by clerical staff, and the Appstation technology replaces the paper based system with a real-time mobile working solution. All jobs are managed electronically and can be allocated automatically. All data recorded as a result of a repair is automatically imported into the organisations IT system.
 
Recently trialling the solution with great success was Leeds City Council, who employed the cutting edge technology within their busy gas servicing and maintenance team. The team of 20 handle over 8,000 services and conduct over 5,000 repairs a year.
The Motivity™ solution made the field workforce more efficient, drastically decreasing levels of paperwork and administration, while improving lead times and service levels.

Time sheets are now fully automated and operatives fill in job details as they complete the job electronically. This is linked directly to the main system to provide real time visibility of both staff and the workflow.
